im in my base training phase for long distance track right now, meaning i will be doing long easy miles and building up my mileage.
so, will doing speed work once a week after my distance run be able to help me improve my basic speed? meaning my raw 100m speed. because i know increasing your basic speed is one way to get better times for the 800/1600 and 3200 meters.
i was planning on doing like 6-8 reps of 80m-100m sprints once a week with a full recovery. can that possible make me sprint faster as as distance runner because i have never in my life worked on raw sprint speed.
any help is appreciated. thanks!!!
