Am trying to dial in paces and truly know fitness without overdoing it. I know to base my paces on CURRENT fitness, and not future EXPECTED times. Daniels and Tinman are somewhat alike, but which one is more useful?
Ran a Marathon in exactly 3:20:01 (7:37/mi.) so I used that # as my baseline.
https://runfastcoach.com/calc2/index.php
26.2-3:20:01, 7:37 pace
13.1-1:36:02, 7:19 pace
10k-43:19, 6:58 pace
5k-20:46, 6:41.2 pace
I tried running a solo 5k on the track evenly last Tuesday and ran 21:14 (1:41s to start but I went steady but doable, then worked down to 1:38s and had negative splits).
So I don't know how accurate these calculators are. When I put the same 3:20:01 in for Daniels it gave me the "equivalent" times but the Marathon time got WORSE (?) and was 3:20:14.
https://runsmartproject.com/calculator/
26.2-3:20:14, 7:38 pace
13.1-1:36:16, 7:21 pace
10k-43:27, 6:59 pace
5k-20:57, 6:45 pace
Also, when I ran the marathon I bonked the last 3 miles due to pacing.
The first 23 I was at 2:46, or 7:14.7/mi. before bonking. The last 3 miles were 8:49, 9:03, 9:01. But I'm just using the 7:37/mi. as an average to work from to be safe.
