There is a pitchfork aspect to how this way of thinking is penetrating our institutions of enlightenment. With an unreachable pitilessness, a catechism couched in an elaborate jargon is being imposed almost as if sacred: privilege, decentering, hegemony, antiracism. Nonbelievers, sometimes even agnostics, are cast out, leaving a cowed polity pretending to agree. This is a regrettable kind of religion, aiming to run the state. That’s not how this American experiment was supposed to go.

It's too late to throw money at it and then blame the victim. You can continue to throw money at people but it won't help the fact they do not have their identity and culture which is their real wealth and means to order and structure themselves. Here typically they are in north America, speaking English with English names following a religious belief system concocted my ancient Rome, and most importantly historically denied the right to own resources. That's a huge historical f up. Then they themselves are blamed for all of it.

It's a historic issue on how small Europe colonized the rest of the world. Europe has taken the identify, culture, wealth and order out of the rest of the world, forcing it's own culture on other peoples and brought chaos, disorder and destruction.

This sums it up perfectly right here. Between the insane religious left, and the nutjob Trumpist right, thoughtful centrists have nowhere to go in this country and it's absolutely a recipe for disaster.

Case in point: a longtime friend of mine (white male, mid-50's, high school teacher, hates Trumpists with a passion, as do I) , smart guy, definitely no idiot. But if you so much as breath a word of dissent regarding race, even merely ask questions suggesting you aren't fully invested in the current cultural narrative regarding race, and you're automatically a fascist.

The point McWhorter makes regarding original sin is spot on; original sin is to me one of the most hideous aspects of christianity, and my friend will agree with me on that all day long...but the parallel between that and the original sin of 'whiteness' is lost completely on him to the point where you can't even have a conversation. We have a lot of history but I honestly can barely take him any longer. He just refuses to see that the 'woke left' is every bit as fundamentalist as the evangelicals he hates so much; just crazy.

It's just good ol fashioned Marxism heated up and rewarmed for a new generation.

That is patently false. It's a dumb myth that gets parroted by Dems/libs because they think it's a slam dunk. I highly doubt you've ever actually read the facts though.

I would agree with you if this was still the 1950's, but you're leaving out 70 years of history. Black poverty today is a product of failed welfare policies that enabled single parenthood, which completely destabilized the black family unit on average. Without a stable, 2-parent home, kids are left to their own devices without the extra supervision and guidance. Not exactly setting those kids up for success. It's easy to see this because black poverty began to decrease in the 60's , then shot back up in the 70's and 80's. You can easily get out of poverty in a single lifetime by getting a job and not having kids outside of wedlock, so talking about the past 300 years is a waste of time.

Luckily the black poverty rate has reached on all-time low in recent years.

To be fair, the only reason why rural white America isn't in the same boat is the handout after handout the farming sector gets from the government.

If it wasn't for those billions, things would be even more dire in Trump country.

I get so angry sometimes then I realize that unfortunately certain personalities and psychologies exist.

Regardless of what happens in the near term with policies, the overarching structural and historical issues I wrote about in my previous post prevail. You can't tinker with policies whilst huge historical and structural issues loom large.

It was a de- and re- structuring of the whole planet to align to the benefit and interest of Europe so that the whole planet is now suspended in a disorder or re-order that again works predominantly to the interest of Europe...and then we're talking about tinkering with a few fiat (fake) political instruments (again of the same fake fiat construction fabricated to serve Europe on natural Indigenous land) in part of North America concocted a few decades ago ? What ??!!
