It’s a solid investment but I get you on the durability. I had a pair with only 30 miles and the tongue ripped when I pulled it. I returned them and didn’t bother getting a new pair. I’m happy with the endorphin lineup.
As far as flats, I just got a pair of the Lt Streak but it’s more for workouts and XC grass courses. If you need a road shoe you’ll need a super shoe at this point. A cheaper alternative is the Endorphin Speed. Check online for sales or even afterpay payment options.
