Are racing flats a thing of the past? I’m really confused about how to move on. I have to pay $250 to try a shoe out and it only lasts 200 miles and it looks retarted as hell?

You are still allowed to buy any shoe you want. Let others do the same.
I don't wear carbon plate shoes, mostly because im hard-headed and refuse to do so.
You can still race in flats. The streak lt, saucony a9, and saucony fastwitch are still available and you can buy a couple flats from salming's website.

Streak LT is not available in my size anywhere new
If your flats weigh 6 or 7oz then just stick with them I suppose. The vaporfly stops your legs getting beat up. I would wear something like the adios up to the half but it would not be as comfortable as the vaporfly that's for sure.

If you're worried about the money, save the $250 Vaporflys for races only, and wear a more affordable shoe for daily training. At 200 miles, that's quite a few races. They should last a long time.
I refuse to wear cheater shoes because I'm a real man. If I ever were to fail a drug test, I would blame it on a burrito and point to the fact that I don't wear cheater shoes thus I am not a cheat!

When have you ever used a racing flat for more than 200 miles of actual racing? That's 64 5k races, or seven marathons and a half. How much are you racing?
If $250 is too steep you can find the almost-as-good Endorphin Pro V1 for $100.
If you people had tried them then you would realise the shoes won't magically make you run crazy times, you will shave off a few seconds per mile at most and that is because the shoe is extremely light and cushioned.
I swear there is no point in posting on this dumb ass forum. The smart advice gets ignored.
No. Too expensive.

Spend your time reading instead of worrying about racing flats.

Know, butt I mite sum day.
split the difference and get the Endorphin Speed. They have the responsiveness of those regular flats but the light foam and pop of the supershoes. The ride to me is right in between the two and they look like regular shoes without the stupid fin of the Vaporfly. They are cheap. I snagged a pair of V1 for 90$ on sale the other day. The best shoe I've ever worn.
7 marathons? Say 2 marathons a year, so shoes will last 3 - 4 years. Did your old flats really last that long?
What's you're Grndr username?
