Jack Daniels said 180 in is book after watching a race ... It's one of the most annoying pieces of advice out there and still it persists. Why? I don't know.
Just. Run. Easy.

According to my Garmin my cadence is regularly ~151 strides/min., which seems like a bit of an outlier based on responses so far, and probably not a good thing.
I’m 6’2.5” with long legs and, as I get older (29 atm), increasingly hideous form. I’ve sometimes thought that the “Hardloper” handle describes me as a runner pretty well.
The runs that I averaged my cadence from ranged from 6:50-7:20 avg. pace. I tend to wear my Timex Ironman for my easiest runs.
I might try shortening my stride and increasing my cadence; it could help with injury prevention, if it takes.

Probably should of included foot size too.
The smaller height/foot size runners will have a higher cadence but they need it and they have a lower centre of gravity, whereas tall/large foot size runners have a slower cadence because their legs are longer and higher centre of gravity.
It’s the same with running shoe efficiency, smaller foot help by small body height and size get more efficient shoes than large foot, bigger body height and size runners

I have very low cadence, it gets a bit higher (165) at half marathon pace (6:00 per mile). I tried to make it higher but coudl not do it, so now i just run at 150.
