What's crazy about the list of age group records is when I look at the men's 5000 and see a 16 year old (Abraham Cherkos (ETH) ) at 12:54 .19and a 17-year old (Isaiah Koech, KEN) at 12:54.18, my first instinct is to think "A list of the best age cheats and/or dopers" in history.
Then I get to age 18 and see Eliud Kipchoge.
So they can't all be age cheats or at least big time age cheats as Kipchoge just won Olympic gold at age 36.
Whatever happened to Koech. I'd love to see a profile on him. How can he be that good but now at 27 not be heard from. What cause that quick fall?
Whether it was money, drugs, injury, age cheating, etc? It would be a fascinating read.
