I did a great workout today. 8 reps at 135 followed by 3 sets of 5x175 on the bench h.
I believe 225lbs is very realistic. Maybe Friday.
Should I make a video of 1 rep max at 225? Or wait until I can do 225 5 times?

Wait. Don’t hurt yourself. Back when I was in college I could knock out more reps with 225 than a lot of guys at the NFL combine ( my best was 18).
I don't believe you. 🤔
Make a video!!!
Max PR is 255. Do itttt
Joe Dirt, haven't also claimed a sub-35 10K? Which one J. Dirt? Not both.
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Do you, and do it proudly and with levity, F what others think, screw trying to impress people, embrace doing what you enjoy doing

I'm happy when I squat that
Post it
I have no view on whether you can bench 225 or not, but here's my contribution to bench pressing.
I am good friends with a 60-year-old little wisp of a woman who can bench 175. She does competitions. It's insane to see not only because she is 60, but because she is so tiny.
Wait until you can do some reps easily with that weight.

I can run a 3:07 marathon. So probably can bench 250 easily. Back when I was in college benching that much was easy though, so why would I bother trying now.

I'd like to see a video when you're comfortable with it, don't hurt yourself.
Bonus points if you make a video racing 35 yards!
Sure. But you still haven’t run a 3 hour marathon.

I don't have a good instinct for conversion at those poundages so I looked at a calculator. It claims that 175x9 might convert to 225. However, if you haven't done low reps it might catch you off guard and out of your groove. My guess is that you would fail on Friday. Try 195 on your third set next time, and then 210 a week later or so. Depending on how those sessions go you will be more confident and likely to succeed at 225.
I can do squat reps with 225lbs(ass to the grass)
I can do bench reps with 165lbs(wrists straight, bar down to the chest, elbows not flaring out too much)
Good on you if you can bench 225 properly!
Why do you want to make a video of it though?
Greg you can "probably" bench 2 plates now. Should you wait until you can do 5 reps until you make a video. If you can "probably" bench 2 plates now - why not just do it. Forget with the speculation. JU!ST DO IT! Quit with the "I can probably" do this. Just do it!
Almost any young guy should be able to get to 225 with a little work. I did 295 about 9 months after stopped running competitively in college (also 8x225 in the same workout as warm-up).
you really shouldn't max out ever, unless you stand to gain something like money or babes.
why risk hurting yourself?
in a couple of months you will definitely be able to do it, and easily at that. wait until then.
