My brother and I were having this debate. Thinking of picking one up to wear in an upcoming HM race. it looks like a high quality top that is light and breezy. In other sports its normal to wear the team jersey as a fan, but what about in running? For context neither of us are very fast, both aiming for sub 90 HM (F25, M21). I guess we could buy another colour, but the blue and green one does look great imo.

It’s not corny if it brings joy to the process and it also looks good at the same time no reason for it to be a problem.
i have the black and white world champion version and have worn it in 18min 5ks
i hate the nike top. probably because it is so common and unoriginal in the context of professional level international races.
but if you like it, GET IT and enjoy it.
you don't really see them much out in the wild.
It can be pretty corny IMO to wear the whole Nike pro kit, sleeves and all, only to run a 1:30 or so half, but at the same time, there’s no reason to gate keep it. Nike sells the kits to the public to be used.
Those people only tend to annoy me when they pop up in my Instagram suggested feed with their slow motion, dramatic music, awful form, and fake sponsorships to try and put off some charade that they are elite when they finished in the triple digits of placement.
You can probably count on one hand the number of people at a big race that would even notice let alone have a problem with it.
At smaller races, it's possible no one would be any the wiser. It would just be an interesting looking kit to them.
Not my thing, but go for it if you like the stuff. Some people will judge you, either because they think you're a poseur or think you don't "deserve" to wear it. If this concerns you [it shouldn't] wear something else. Otherwise, go for it.

If you like it, get it and use it. I wouldn't, but my primary reason is that I think it is ugly.
If you like putting money into our sport, go ahead.
It's dumb to try to gatekeep gear. If you think the enjoyment that you can get out of buying running gear is worth the price, theres really nothing else that should go into your consideration other than "what else can i buy with this money that will make me even happier". Forget about what people think.
by all means, get it and enjoy it!
The thing is, there is a big disconnect in this sport between regular runners and the elite. Most people who see you won't have any idea it is a team jersey, and even amongst those, who would care?
It's settled. Buy the damn thing!

OP…first off, never a cringe worthy when it comes to a hobby jogging sport. Please remember that! With that said, I can’t comment on the Nike product 😬..just saying.
I think it's kinda cool and funny for a hobbyjogger to wear it. I was thinking about getting one myself.
It's running kit, if you like it, buy it. Nike aeroswift gear is usually good quality, lightweight, and fits well. It's a bit expensive when full price but you can almost always find it discounted. In short, go for it!
well dont thousands of runners buy those pink highlighter nike vaporflys to run 3 hour marathons? it really doesnt matter ive never looked twice at anyone wearing it
