lmao chill, katelyn has already ran faster times vs her hs times
For the last time, "has ran" is always incorrect and makes you sound like an illiterate.
Probably hot, humid conditions so they would all run faster in late season.

I was there. It was not hot and humid, especially for NC. It was not perfect weather but it was cooler than it has been traditionally for this meet in September…… which is why the times were way faster than last year.
I swear to god she'll win olympic gold and break 14 in the 5k and this forsaken board will say she's "regressing".
It's an opening meet
it's human
they packed up pretty early and were practicing team dynamics.
she's running well by any standard
let her live
let her live
let her live
one more thing to add, the way these boards wait on bated breath for young female prodigies to come crashing down to earth is disturbing.
I haven't seen the same mood on these boards for
Hobbs
Nico
German Fernandez
Dathan Ritzenhein
Alan Webb
Lukas V
Nope. For them its all second chance! Third chance! They're coming along! That meet was a HUGE step in the right direction! and on and on and on.
Let her live.
Sub 14 wouldn't be regression even for Hasan or Gidey. If you want the attention off of her, stop creating threads. There are hundreds about her here and I don't think one has ever been started that was negative. But then as soon as somebody injects some discussion, it is shut down. I don't think I have ever seen somebody say a negative thing about her.

72 dew point is humid. It may not be bad relative to normal, but they would certainly run noticeably faster with a dew point of 60.
A dew point of 40 to 50 is probably ideal.
Geezzzz!!!!! Everyone chill out! Everyone sure does have a lot of opinions about the weather and climate for not being there the past three seasons at the meet?!?!?
Forget the climate, the real take from Tuohy’s performance is that obviously NC State is the team to beat! Steelman was their 5th runner and she looked dead and Had a PR from last year’s performance! Dominique, Shaw, Starliper, and Moreno were held out of the race, and their #1 runner Ran better than last year and was 5th on the team. Anyone who thinks there is another team with this much depth is crazy. There 8-14 runners are a top 20 team.
And as for Tuohy, she may not be better than she was in HS, but she is surely just as good, and that will place her top 5 at NCAA’s in November as long as she has no setbacks. She looked like she did her JR year of HS. NC State is just plain out scary!!!!

Hahaha no you weren't. 70+ dew point at race time. We had record humidity for September this week. What are you talking about.
This is typically a dress rehearsal for NC State. It's approached more of a race as the fields have gotten deeper but, historically, they treat their home opener somewhere between a workout and race e.g. flats not spikes, running as a pack for the first 2/3, etc.

I think the reaction to her races are ridiculous in both directions.
If she runs well. One group is ready to hand her multiple NCAA championships. If she doesn’t run well the other group is ready to throw her on the trash heap.
Neither group is doing her any favors.
She ran well and got a win. Can’t ask for more than that. I echo the poster above. Let her live.

surprised about the seniors steelman and hays falling behind.. is it because they tried to keep up with katelyn up front early on? kelsey was smart to tuck behind and only went for it when kt stepped on the gas
I would be Steelman might be a little behind in training having her track season go thru the Olympic Trials. She probably then rested for a few weeks.
Thats fine they have all that depth but top 5 score
nc state has this group classification where a runner have their own training groups that they can train with during their free time and also on real training days
dominique, shaw, and moreno runs together as a group ... while
steelman, tuohy and chmiel also runs together as another group...
(you can see it on their volunteer assistant's ig posts and stories)
in an interview 4 months ago .. coach henes said that when katelyn started training, she was running with kelsey, hannah together ... so its still the same this year but i guess katelyn worked her butt off in the summer to get fitter and faster
coach henes also said that katelyn did pretty well hanging with kelsey and hannah and that katelyn asked her if its okay coz thinks she was not at the same fitness and endurance level as them but fast forward now shes just as fast as them .. and even faster
but i guess kt and kelsey trains together more
heres them running together without hannah

Well since simple math escapes you, let me try good old simple logic ……Steelman was their #1 runner last year and placed 5th at NCAA and just ran faster than last season on the course she just ran……she was their #5 runner!!!! Can you do the math and acquire just a little logic???? I will help, that’s five!!!!!!!

I don't know... they obviously have a great team with a ton of depth. But missing two key runners is it a great sign? Also I don't think Steelman ran Olympic trials
Anyway they have more depth than BYU, but BYU's top five should be even better this year so if they want to win championship they got to get their best Runners healthy. Their third and fourth Runners were a nice surprise and Touhy and Camille look good. But they need at least one of Savanna Shaw or Claremont to really step up this year and run All American
i dont think running the olympic trials slow you down lol, look at elly doing just quite well and running faster times after the trials, i think the summer training is what will show in the first races, tuohy and chmiel looked like they trained hard, by just looking at the amount of weight katelyn lost, she definitely did work extra hard during the break
steelman ran the same course last year at 17:03.1 and now ran 16:52.6 .. but i do believe she's just shaking off the rust from the break, shes fast and with kt and kelsey chmiel (not camille) becoming faster than she is, shed prob be more eager to train back on top again
Exactly, it's 5 against 5 at the end of the day. "There 8-14 runners are a top 20 team". Still can't figure out why so many very talented runners end up at NC state knowing they won't sniff the most important meets. It's not like its Stanford where they walk away with a great education. They walk away from doing a ton of training and not being able to deploy it when it matters and they miss out on getting a say top 25 education, maybe they cant get admitted into the top schools even with the recruiting juice.
Every national class runner wants to be one winning team and assumes they will make top 7.
