I've been looking into this guy from Ohio, Caleb Vorin (allegedly 15:02 5k), who seems to be completely real based on athleticnet, but after looking through race videos, official results, and various other things, he is nowhere to be found. Seems weird considering he is not on his school's roster, is using a photo of a different runner on milesplit, and does not appear in any articles or newspapers. What do people know about this?
His track and cross country times seem to line up - it's perfectly reasonable to go from 1:55/4:15/9:17 to a 15:02 5k, but yeah, you'd expect someone that fast to get a decent bit of media coverage. I found nothing about him online except for his athletic.net bio, and he didn't even race at the Ohio state champs which I thought was a little weird.
This is honestly really funny. His athletic.net looks very real. A natural progression, some ‘off’ races- he’s even in results for State meets on Athletic.net. But yet, he doesn’t seem to be real. The Whiteoak Twitter account has posted cross country results several times and he’s not in them lol.
People in Ohio would have to realize this right away and fix Athletic.net… so what the heck is happening?
