Hi guys.
I am currently in the base phase for the upcoming XC season which will start at the end of october. I have just started my first workout of the season and I want to maximize my strength and speed, so I am spending some time lifting heavy weight and doing plyometric. To recover well during my easy day I lift the same day of my workout. I do two "hard" session per week : a tempo run and an interval / hill rep workout. I run in the morning and I lift after work. I don't have problem to recover between the morning run and the evening workout, but sometime I have some difficulty to get enough sleep because I finish my lifting session a bit late.
In order to enhance recovery I am thinking about lifting right after my morning session. For example :
-25 min tempo run or 10x200 m uphill,
-Then lifting 6 rep x 4 back squat, 3 rep x 5 hipthrust, 8 rep x 3 calf raise.
I estimate that doing both workout at the same time would take me around 85/95 minutes. I wanted to know if it's doable or if my lifting would be too much impacted by the run ?
