Hi, I'm a hobby runner in my late 20s who's been running since 2014. I come from a distance background who recently have shifted focus to middle distance and particularly 800m after discovering that I have better 400/800m times than 5k/10k times. My goal is to run 800m under 2 minutes. First 400m and 800m races was in 2019.
Some of my current PB:s are
400m: 55.00 (2020)
800m: 2.03.55 (2021)
1 500m 4.23.60 (2021)
5 000m: 16.55 (2020)
Last year I ran six 800m races (with a best 2.06.30), two 400m races and some 1 500m races. Weekly mileage was often around 100 km (60 miles) with many double days. I ran even more around Dec-Jan. And in February this year I ran 90-100 miles weeks. Unfortunately, the really high mileage actually made me slower on longer fast sessions. I run XC-races as tempo runs. I occasionally lift weights two times a week at the gym (squats etc.) but not so much when there are important races.
This thread: I would be very thankful if you could share some of your tips for running 800m sub 2 minutes and also give some feedback to my training that I have used lately (se training log below), especially in terms of a race-season training log.
I know there are some other threads about 800m on this forum. But it's still hard to get a good program because apparently you should run all different kind of qulity sessions. One of my problems is that when I regularly run max sprints for example, I then notice that I haven't run sessions like 8 x 800m with 1 min rest or long hills for a long time. (I seldom do hill sprints because I often get minor hip pain some days after).
Here's how my training looked like from 21 June to 25 July this year (mileage a lot lower because race season. Warm up runs not inclued, but 82 km, 52 km, 67 km, 70 km and 25 km weeks if included).
Mon: Sprint session. Drills, sprint relays (some 100m) and 5 x 60m with start blocks
Tue: 10 km easy running (5:00 min/km pace)
Wed: 4,4 km XC-country race (16.00). Flat course. "Tempo run" although run at near maximum effort.
Thu: AM: Triple Jump. Then local 400m race (56.07; only two competitors here). I think I could have run around 55.00 or maybe even under with fresh legs. But sometimes I just race for fun. Late Evening: Weights at Gym.

Tue: 13 km easy run at 5:00 pace
Ons: Local 60m race (8.02) + 400m race (56.07).

Mon: Easy weights
Tue: 9 km easy run at 5:00 pace
Wed: First ever 400m hurdles race (63.20)
Thu: 26 km biking
Fri: 2 000m steeple at steady pace. Instead of short easy run with strides.
Sat: 26 km biking
Sun: 800m race: 2.03.55. Did taper for this.
(Mon) 3 000m steeplechase race. Wanted to try this. Small race with zero expecations.
What I especially would like to know about the log is: is there room for even more quality sessions (especially sprints) or will the injury risk be too high? Are the 400m intervall sessions too slow/fast?
Thankful If you also have could share some tips how I should train this fall since there aren't many track races left for me this season. There aren't any more 800m races example.
