“American blacks”: Allyson Felix, Ronnie Baker, Raevyn Rogers, Kenny Bednarek, etc, etc. Your comment is representative of your stupidity.

Richardson is a phenomenal talent herself, but could use a bit of guidance on the mental aspect of the sport. Personality wise she makes for better TV simply because crass bravado generates polarizing debate. What I see is an individual who is vulnerable after being exposed on the world's biggest stage. The persona is a defense mechanism which nobody takes seriously. I do feel bad for her.
Athing Mu has taken a different track, where her performance on the track does the talking. She is articulate and calm. Perhaps it is a difference in family environment. A secure and stable family plays a critical role in how you develop as an individual.
Both athletes are great talents but society prefers the one who does not stray too far from the norm. I am pretty sure this is not a race issue. Most people do not like crass behavior.
Sha’Carri is young and immature. Mu is uncommonly mature for her age. Both are insanely talented and should be around for a long while. You could argue both athletes are “sellable”
Why do Americans make everything about race?
I couldn't stand SCR the 1st time I heard her her speak. Her her post trials added trials attitude persona and image has only confirmed my initial reaction. Many appropriate descriptors have been applied in this thread so I won't add anymore.
I think it is an insult to imply that all black people are like her, or that the only reason white people don't like her is that this is that she doesn't sound "like them" . That's ridiculous. If a white person was interviewed and demonstrated the same low levels of tact, class, articulation, et cetera, I would feel the exact same way. Without question. I feel the exact same way about the trash is a trash on Jerry Springer.. I couldn't care what color they are. They are not people that I raise up as role models for my children.
Stop defending people like SCR, and start admiring people people who possess and demonstrate the class of someone like Mu. I don't like her because she "sounds white" . I like her because she is articulate, genuine, humble, thoughtful, and seems like someone I would love to have as a neighbor or have babysit my kids. Keep SCR away from my kids…
Ugh... why can we not edit posts on this site? My stupid phone is repeating random phrases ...
Mu wins gold and speaks in a positive tone.
Then she goes out and sets the American record and crushes the field at Pre.
Richardson is disqualified from the Olympics.
Then Richardson loses badly to the Olympic finalists at Pre and speaks in a negative tone.
Seems like one of the two is a positive winner ......

Yikes. In that case give me SCR any day
If Richardson wasn't banned from the Olympics for marijuana, she wouldn't be so popular.
Dumbest post on here and completely disrespectful to black America. I'll repost what you said:
Do things the way white Americans deem acceptable? So, you are implying conducting oneself with maturity, professionalism and humility is what white America deem acceptable? Incredibly poor by you and throwing in the race card here is so far off the mark is laughable to the point of being insulting.
ALL HUMAN BEINGS deem it acceptable. It's how grown folks are supposed to act. Every 100m runner in that race was black. Elaine Thompson is from one of the poorest towns in Jamaica. But she's the poster woman for class and professionalism. Your implication that Sha'Carri is just acting black and white America doesn't like it is ridiculous and insulting to black people.
Athing Mu is class personified and she's been able to pull this off at such a young age. Unfortunately she runs in events people outside of track care practically zilch about. Maybe if she dropped down to the 400m and she dominated there (which she could) then maybe she would get the shine more fitting of who she is and what she has accomplished.
The athletes who get the most attention during the Olympics are the athletes who have won before and even more so predicted to win AGAIN. Mu was predicted to be a main contender this year, and then she won. Now if can manage to win the 400/800 double at world championships, going into the Olympics in 2024 she will be one of the most talked about athletes for the track and field side of things. And still even more if she can manage an 800 world record before then. Imagine going into 2024 as the current 800 world record holder, defending gold medalist in the event, and going for the 400/800 double gold as well as 4x400 which she won gold in in 2020(1) as well. That would be a huge talking point, the media would be talking about that every chance they get.

We need a real biography about Athing Mu.
She is 19...how much "biography" does she have? She runs. So far that is it.
So far, there is this:

Mu seems like she could be the next Allyson Felix. Young, speaks well, seems grounded (that sort of thing always has the chance to come back to haunt).
I think there is a chance of her reaching that level.
Remind me, how many American Records in individual Olympic events did Felix garner, not even limited to under 20 years of age?
Hopefully it happens wrote:

A major factor for 2022 and 2024 is she will be protected from DSD athletes. Poor ladies in the 100/200/3000+ won't be so lucky

Agree. Also a probability that the top 3 in Tokyo would have been the same order of finish. Sad to see only 1 American finalist there and Doha.
Where are the Gail Devers and Gwen Torrence's of today? Dilute the SCR show because she wouldn't be the only show in town.
The look on SAFP face as she walked behind SCR interview was so telling and reminded me of kids on the playground. Classic.

Athing Mu is one of the athletes loved on this website (which is saying a lot) - super fast, and a complete class act (always sticking around after races to congratulate her competitors), extremely charismatic, etc. It says something that a great athlete like this is not the face of US track and field, but instead Sha'Carri Richardson is one of the only track athletes known to the average person.
Catilyn Jenner has then bith beat.🤡
Who the hell is Caitlynn jenner

Yes. Why would they resonate so well if they dont.
the letter why wrote:
Maybe consider why you think Mu is acceptable and Richardson is not.
I considered it and decided that I like people who win and who are humble better than people who finish DFL and then run their mouth. You can turn that into "racism" however you want but that would say more about you than it would me.
