I am 17 now plan to come to the USA and run under a reputed d1 college as a sprinter (100m, 200m)
The problem is, due to this pandemic, in my country, there have been virtually no track meets for over 2 years (Only nationals were conducted). And I have been practicing hard since May 2020 till now, though I don't have any competition.
My dilemma is, should I take a gap year after school, pursue athletics, get my times in. Or, should I come to America as soon as I get my visa and admission? The visa won't be a problem as my dad holds one, he can sponsor for me.
My other doubt is, as I am coming on visa, would I be able to join a local track club and compete in the local meets? Cause if I can do these both, I would consider coming to America ASAP.
Thank you
Hoping to get a speedy reply
