Hi all,
My question is - Do you believe I will be able to run a sub 11 second 100m at 26 years old?
A little background - I haven't run track since 2014, where I ran a PB of 11.21 FAT, this was my first any only season running. Coming from a small school, I did not have a dedicated sprint coach and looking back now, my starts were horrendous. At the time I was 17 and my stats were 140lbs 10% b.f 135 bench, 155 squat, 315 deadlift. I also ran a 51.XX 400m the same season.
Now, 9 years later I will be joining a local club 4 months from now and looking to get back into the sport. I'm arguably in better shape now at 150lbs 10% b.f 235 bench, 315 squat, 405 deadlift.
Should I expect to be able to match my previous high school times? Is looking to run sub 11 seconds an overly ambitious goal, given the appropriate coaching and through working on my start?
Any insights or thoughts would be very much appreciated!
Cheers!
