If true, that does look pretty darn bad...

He’s likely doping like many professional athletes. To get to that level you not only need talent and hard work, but arguably pharmaceuticals.

My question is… is he going to get popped? If so, Kerley and Great Britain will get gold. Ironic given they are likely doping too…

You are the only person on the entire planet that assumed someone who came out of no where to win the Olympic Gold medal in the 100m dash

Rather than throw accusations around, I'm going to just believe he's clean until proven dirty. I'm looking at his gold the same way we see Kim Collins' from world champs - it's a weird fluke of circumstances. And his 9.80 time is probably really only around 9.90 on a standard track. I would guess that's his ceiling time for the rest of the season, if he runs

I feel like Jacobs Win was a one off, the guy peaked at the right time and had his pre-race mentality in check compared to the other sprinters who were obviously hugely stressed.

Its going to be interesting to see if he continues winning and running fast times.

This. Everytime I've seen someone mention the track surface, it gets ignored by the pitchfork wielding mob. He didn't really run 9.80, that Tokyo track inflated times by around 1%. He ran 10.07 or something a few years ago and has run the equivalent of 9.90 in Tokyo. It's not that suspicious. The field was weakened and the Americans ran similar times to their tune up races in Europe when you factor in the 1% inflation. ( I haven't seen what mondo track design is used at Hayward field, but it is probably similar to Tokyo judging by the times). The track is the real controversy here.

Marcell took 5 doping tests in Tokyo. If they all turn up clean, you must leave him be.

Some 26 year old guy nobody’s ever heard of suddenly becomes the fastest sprinter in the world, nothing suspicious about that.
