I dropped two pounds in 10 days.
First, count how many calories you eat in a normal day. Read all the labels on your food, actually measure out how big your portions are (I found that my normal bowl of cereal was in fact two servings of cereal and two servings of milk), visit calorieking.com for foods that don't have labels.
Figure out the most painless way to eliminate 1000 calories per day from your diet.
How I did it:
1) Eat tons of fruit and vegetables. An oatmeal cookie has the same number of calories as an apple. I could easily have 3 or 4 oatmeal cookies as a snack, but could I eat 3 or 4 apples? Would I even want to? No. They're way too filling.
2) Eliminate pointless calories. You drink orange juice in the morning? You could just drink water and take a vitamin C tablet. Cheese on your sandwich? Yeah, it tastes good, but one piece has like 80 calories. Don't drink soda.
You can easily do it without starving yourself.
