Im reading another atricle about one of my favorite athletes (Michael Norman) and how he felt the pressure from social media prior to and leading into and during the Tokyo olympics. This is about the 3rd,4th,5th athlete i have read about that talked about all the pressure they have put on themselves while they were competing in Tokyo. These great olympians need to take their cell phones and dispose of them prior to the next Olympic games. These athletes have alot of downtime during this 2 plus week olympic experience and are so lasered focus on there event(s) that all they really can do is look at their phones unless they are practicing, eating,or resting . They look at there phones constantly looking for admiration from all their "followers" and if they slip up during there competition the media( mainly social media) are ready to pounce with negativity. Im pleading for future olympians please discard your phone for prior to Paris and leave all that "noise" for us back here in the states.
