She dropped at 20k

I got 84 degrees and 72 dewpoint at the finish. Pretty tough. Worse than 2008 Olympics by far. Any other big marathons with temp over 80? London 2019 or 18 was in the low 70’s and people were complaint about the heat.
Rio? Just spit-balling here.

The girl who cooled down best won today
This is the truth - Jepchirchir ran the whole race with a bag of ice in her shirt and had much better awareness for hydration. I think Molly would have nipped Kosgei if she had executed a better cooling strategy
Boston hit 90 in '04, when I got to Wellesley I started seeing things and dropped out.
Haven't slept the whole night (7:40 am here in HK) and I regret none. Now I can have a really good sleep thanks to Molly. Damn, what a race!
great race especially given the brutal heat---nice to see Seidel medal after her injuries in college and post-collegiate career-she ran the perfect race; I thought that it would be between her and Saltpeter for 3rd but she hit the wall!

Good call. 79 and 64 dewpoint at finish. So definitely warm, but still manageable. They also started later in the morning and were in the water so they had a slight warm breeze coming across.
What shoes were Molly wearing?

2008 Beijing and 2018 London were pretty tough, but neither of them holds a candle to today's race.
Athens 2004, women? Weather?
Deena bronze then, too
Salpeter finally finishes
That's really old, but 1984 Olympic Women's marathon should top today's race.
Yes, Athens was scorching hot. Remember watching Deena and she had that same fierce, locked in look of determination. She had to overtake some people in the last 5k to get her medal I think, was never quite a threat to win like Molly was here, but was an inspiring run.

IIRC, that was 90+ degree, not sure about the dew point though.
Great to see Salpeter finish

Puma super shoe?
Why is that dude in such a hurry to shuttle the finishers away? Most of them would just appreciate a moment to recover

I like that she finished.
