Carl Lewis is CORRECT. It was about as embarrassing as this:

I'm glad he put it out there publicly, even though I'm not american.

Come on, he's right aboyt the relay… but you're right about the video. Carl's been kicking himself about that for the last 30 years I'm sure. But thanks to YouTube nobody will ever forget :)
I have a strong feeling that music video will be taken down
So watch it while it lasts!
The admitted dope cheat scumbag and fraud may have a point.
That music video should be the new Rick Roll
Glad I’m not watching.
This from a guy who was a complete distraction in Atlanta in '96 with his campaigning for a spot on the final 4 x 100 team, I thought his behavior contributed in part to the second place finish. Surprised that he did not say he could hVW done a better job on this team.
If you dont have the fastest guys out there and they dont care enough to even practice, then he's right. These are ego driven guys that are not inclined to practice with each other, which is insane because its a an easy Gold or Silver they can take home. Someone like Traevon could go home with a gold medal around his neck, maybe not the way he wanted but all the same. Im surprised there isnt more drive to cooperate. Maybe thats the leadership part he commented on. Someone take the reins and practice. Get A team out there right from the get go. If you dont care, then its not really a travesty.
Need new sprint coaches, someone competent.
I remember seeing some pretty awful performances at the past few NCAA meets, can't remember which teams. It happens when men run very fast and try to hand over a stick.

Then why doesn't it happen to the Japanese and Chinese teams?
We have incompetent coaching....

It didn't happen to the USA at the last worlds, either, IIRC.

The focus should be on the points Carl Lewis address. Using time on some stupid music video thirty years ago is just a waste of time. If that is the level of focus then it is a good explanation for why the US teams keeps choking in the relays every olympics.

Watch it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jkfWCBev0EYou have the world leader Bromell leading off and not gaining on anyone.
Decent handoff to Kerley and he runs well and actually initiates his handoff to Baker before anyone in the field.
But he was the fourth one to complete the handoff. They lost 3 spots in that second exchange.
Baker made up ground and the final exchange to Gillespie wasn't bad. He hit the straight in third. But he was then passed by 3 people and they finished 6th.
No shame in letting DeGrasse of Canada pass you, but he was also caught from behind by Germany and Ghana.
The US chose to rest Bednarek who just finished 2nd in the 200 while Canada ran Gold medal winner DeGrasse.
And honestly, they should have advanced with that team. Resting Bednarek wasn't the worst call.
But maybe put Lyles on there.
The Kerley to Baker exchange killed them.
38.10 usually advances, though.
The US has a pretty solid history at messing up in the 4X00.
Carl should know. He was denied a chance at Gold in 1988 because they messed up the exchange in the prelims and maybe would have won a Gold in 1996 if they put him on the team instead of Tim Harden.
He's spot on.
I've coached 5th graders that executed a cleaner exchange than these idiots.
Do they not rehearse at all?
Fire the relay coach after slapping these clowns silly.
