They could have had a healthy Gatlin, Coleman, or anybody and still not made it. They are horribly coached. Pathetic. A true national embarrassment.
The handoffs were horrendous as always. We need to hire the Chinese or Japanese relay coach
B-Team sprinters go home DEVASTATED.
US coaches go home DEVASTATED and should be PUBLICLY SHAMED
Whoever is in charge of the USATF relays needs to get $hitcanned in the most unceremonious fashion. Being fired like how I was on the LAX tarmac is too kind. They need to get fired in Tokyo & pay for their own flight home.
Hilarious. Gillespie got utterly destroyed anchoring. So satisfying.
im doubting bromells time from this season.
how come on one of the fastest surfaces ever made. this guy is struggling to break 10 seconds. he literally lost to the chinese 1st leg.
where did he run his 9.7x?

Why even rest Bednarek? He's only ran 3 races and eased up in 2 of them. That's just arrogance and cost them the finals.

What exactly were we saving our A team for? the 100 and 200 are done and over. We know who is really in shape (not bromell). It should have been Baker starting (best 60m) to Kerley to Bednarek to Lyles.
Got the twisties trying to reach back for the baton
I genuinely don't understand what they are thinking. It's not like the US never lost a relay playing these stupid games. Outrageous

Whole US track team got the twisties.
this is the first time I have been pissed off watching these games. ive been disappointed. but this just blows my mind. any one of the 200 guys is a better choice. and Kerley with the terrible baton handling probably should have been 1 or 4. if a guy is not good with the stick, give him as little responsibility as possible.
idk..maybe he is a wizard in practice.
Totally embarrassing and disgusting.
Canada > USA once again
Shoot we might has well have had crouser on the relay, hes the only one who can perform
It's almost as if we don't care about team events in professional Track and Field, which is unfortunate because I think the relays at the NCAA Championships seem to have a very high priority.
Tribalism among the different training groups? I don't know, but there is something systematically wrong.
It sad to think, but is it possible the athletes don't have any incentive clauses for relay performances and they really don't care about representing the USA so they have no motivation to prepare for relays and just wing it.
Honestly US men's sprints have been a bit of a letdown in Tokyo, no golds and our favorites did less than we expected. Like Noah getting bronze, Grant getting second, Bromell not even making the final. Probably won't end up with a gold in the 400m, 4x1 failing to make the final, mixed 4x4 putting a b team that got 3rd, just waiting for the mens 4x4 to slip up.
Only the American men could have the 2nd place finisher in the 100, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finisher in the 200, and not even make the 4x100 finals. And the American men are consistent, they can do that every time.
Being serious, the U.S. needs to fire its sprint relay coaching staff and hire a Japanese crew.

At least they screwed up early so another team could get a chance.
