he thought he had it but idk what he was thinking im his mind tho. Also if he was in any other lane besides 9 he probably would be in safely. How u let the guy with the best time in the world be in lane 9
his post race interview with Lewis Johnson was painful to listen to
He'll regret that casual finish for a long time.

They are not showing interviews on the NBC Olympics livestream. What did he say?
I think when Lewis asked him what happened he said something like "I should've run faster than slower". He seemed high.
I'm wondering how much you actually save by trying to ease through the rounds. Not saying you blast the prelim round but are you really saving strength by trying to coast in from 100 meters instead of maybe 40 or 50? I think as long as you keep a steady cadence, relax but still focus on your leg turnover it's not going to hurt you.
Same thing happened to that French 800m runner, she was .02 secs away from qualifying and didn't lean
I guess the saying "leave it all out on the track" doesn't apply to him. Way to represent the U.S. of A. Ugh.

Yes, sorry. I was referring to Ross.

Incredibly piss poor coaching, and incredibly stupid running.
He messed up, plain and simple. He thought he was comfortably in third place and was easing up just before the line while the guy in fourth was kicking for all he was worth. And yes, Ross did not impress with his intellect in the interview.
I missed it did the World leader not get out of the first round?
I’m betting he would have run that coed relay now. Would have at least gotten Silver.
I’ll have to watch the race again, but it looked like a momentary lapse in judgement and I don’t think he came off as unintelligent in the interview, I think he was kicking himself and too preoccupied with his mistake to give a good interview (not that NBC interviews are ever good)
