Incredible run.
So relaxed crossing the line while everyone around her was tightening up, grimacing and straining.
Easy gold is my guess.

When is the last time the US had an athlete like this? She is an absolute freak of nature. I can't remember the last time I felt so hyped for an American in the Olympics.
Prediction - Mu will win the final in 1:55.2!

The WORLD has not had an athlete like this in track and field. Casually destroys international field in her world stage debut. Did she stifle a yawn at the end of that semi?
How much extra distance did she run by staying in outside of lane 1? Silly.

She doesn't care if she runs 809m if it keeps people off her shoulder in the semi. She has money to burn against the field. It looked like someone told her to do that deliberately. I would be surprised to see that in the final .
Agreed, and for such a young age. The world record is hers for the taking - not now but I would say almost definitely within the next 2-3 years.
Somebody could have gotten by on the inside if they moved quickly.

I think she presents a pretty formidable obstacle in the moment. Plus who wants to be the one to risk knocking down the gold medal favorite, as Akins nearly did in the Trials? And if you get by her? You gonna outsprint a 49.5 runner...I think not.
Her loping stride reminds me of David Rudisha.
Is her surname pronounced "Moe" or "Moo"?
Yup, she can absolute Rudisha it.
Run strong from the front, just towards the outside of lane 1 - as the other poster said, it would be foolish to try and squeeze past her on the inside.
Looking great. I'm going with silver.

Yeah, her running on the outside of lane 1 is strange and makes no sense. With that said she might be so much better than everyone that it won't matter.

How so?

Would there be any squeezing? It looks like a pile of space to me.
We are truly watching the next David Rudisha. I call gold medal in a couple of days and world record at the 2024 Olympics.

Something doesn't sound quite right with your first sentence.
Care to rephrase?
run in the 2nd half of the 1st lane guarding her position so as to cover any moves and not get boxed in.

I understand what's being said. 1 ) She's going to dominate the event like David, and possibly lead gun to tape and get the gold medal on Monday ) 2,. She will set a world record at the 2024 Games.
