Needs to spend more time at sea level. Running in beanies and long sleeves at altitude isn’t the same as humidity and sea level is sea level

Right, because those Ethiopians, Kenyans and Ugandans are all training at sea level too...
Shoulda shaved that caterpillar off his lip, actually.
Seriously, he wasn't exactly dominant in college so how far did you think Ritz coaching was going to go? Not like Ritz coached Stinson onto the Olympic team, either.
Guy has got to be just thrilled to be there. His running career is complete and a 100% success. There are dozens of Joe Kleckers that never get to an OG or WC.
Running that race in probably 70+ dewpoint must have been brutal.
Fisher obviously was immaculately prepared for the conditions due to the time he spent in Park City.
Was this not kind of exactly where someone at his level should finish? It is actually one of the best finishes of the 3rd place finisher at the US trials at the Olympics

This poster knows nothing about running.
Klecker is, as the kids say, built different. He looks like a center fullback for England.
I hate to drag biles through the mud again, b/c I’m literally worthless in comparison to her - BUT klecker is like the opposite of her latest performance. He never seemed to have the talent but just kept trying and trying nonetheless. And he got into an Olympic final which is amazing.

I thought he looked like a turn of the last century strong man. I bet he could have won the 10000m at the 1904 world's fair and then bent a piece of rebar with his bare hand in celebration.
Or maybe west Germany w a name like klecker and that mustache
Also he finished and didn’t get lapped. Which is like the 4th medal in the 10k
Klecker has plenty of talent. His parents are both former national record holders and he was an NCAA runner up. It's not like he's some Rudy story.
Also, not really sure what Biles' situation has to do with Klecker. Nobody expected jack s**t from Klecker and nobody outside of track even knows who he is. To compare him to Simone Biles on any level, in any situation, is insane.
Alberto took Kara and Galen to Houston to train before Daegu. Unfortunately, I would agree that it is incredibly important for runners to spend a few weeks acclimating to high heat and humidity.
Houston, of all places. Geez, what a coincidence. I wonder what they did between training sessions.

I love it when someone objects to my posts but fails to notice the user name.

Except Park City is a very dry climate and Tokyo in the summer is a very humid climate. Temperature at the start was 86F/30C with a lot of humidity at 8:30pm. Park City doesn't replicate that very well.
