First 3000m : 7:58
4min rest
Second 3000 m : 7:48.
Last 1500m of his second 3000m : 3:44.
I'd say he's in good shape

The man from Boulogne-sur-Mer, the French port city not far from the English coast some miles away by boat is definitely ready for a good performance in Japan. We think he’s worth around 1300 to 1305 for 5000 m right now. We would just like to advise him to go easy on the McDonald’s during his stay in Japan because he needs to stay lean and hungry.
Worthless, it was 12 days out.
Jerry says it has to be 10 days out.

May we know the source of those workout times as I was not able to find it on Instagram.
Peut-être vous êtes français donc si vous pouvez m’envoyer la source de ses chronos exceptionnel je vous serais très reconnaissant. Avec mes remerciements.
Impressive times. Would be great if he cracks the top ten in Tokyo.

Thank you for that and thank you for your contribution.

The aim is to finish in the top 8, because in France that guarantees maintenance of funding from F.F.A., and support for training camps, INSEP (National Training Center), etc.
Athletes like him do not get rich but they can maintain a salary which is considered close to middle class in France if you include all the sponsorship and all the other things which are thrown in and that means €1600-€2000 per month in equivalency.
Hopefully as his career progresses Gressier will reduce his intake of McDonald’s and KFC because he is really addicted to those meals but long-term those meals are probably not wise choices for overall health and longevity.
Jimmy Gressier’s favorite fuel, but would he run faster on a more conventional, more nutritious diet? That is the question.
