It was a great cushioned trainer, better than the Pegasus. Why did Nike kill it?

I absolutely loved the Nike Skylon. Bring'em back, Nike!
These bad boys?
Lol go buy yourself a pair of them. I wont be but they sure are jazzy.
The version 2 of the skylon my favorite shoe of all time. Is there any shoe currently on the market like it? It was a perfect lightweight trainer that could be used for anything.
The first edition Zoot Solana reminded me exactly of the Skylon.
If it’s not the Pegasus, it won’t stay in Nike’s catalog for long.
The best shoe ever made by any company IMO. I took that shoe through everything from longer intervals up to the marathon. Lightweight yet durable, responsive yet not stiff, BRS1000 carbon tire-grade rubber on the outside to hog through 800+ miles per pair easily. Whoever pulled the plug on the Skylon should be dragged behind a shed at New Hayward and given the Old Yeller treatment.
That was like 25 years ago. Had the shoe stuck around like the 1983-and-counting Pegasus, it might be something, but nothing at all like how it started. Just like the Peg.
I share this love for shoes from back in the day, they were so great! Then I remember I was 32 years younger then, and that might have something to do with it.
The Skylon wasn’t discontinued until 2009 or 2010, only 11-12 years ago, not 25.
The Nike Skylon was on Salazar's feet when he ran 2:08 at NYC in 1981, tough guy.

No, it fully appeared to be a non-consumer version of the Nike Eagle.
The original Nike Eagle. Now THAT is something that they need to sell an exact replica of.

+1
i loved that shoe.
Not sure, but I loved the Skylon Triac TC.
Awesome as a lightweight trainer for longer efforts, awesome for 1/2 marathon and Marathon racing.

I even used it when I ran the Masters XC nationals. Awesome shoe!

This is the most recent reference I could find
https://athleticsweekly.com/shoeguide/review/nike-air-zoom-skylon-mens-2007-6Imagine a shoe similar to this but made with React foam or Zoom X!
Loved that shoe as well. Perfect for everything from long runs to half and full racing. Would buy it right now.
For all of you youngsters on here, the original Nike Skylon was a racing shoe that was lighter than the American Eagle. The Skylon was the shoe that Alberto ran NYC in when he ran the AR* in 1982.
A former Nike athlete myself, it was a great shoe for its time. It was never sold to the general public, but if you look at photos of the big road races back in the early-mid 80's, you'll see guys like Nick Rose, Michael Musyoki, John Lodwick, Jeff Wells and others all wearing this shoe.
You are incorrect.
You want some of this . . . is correct.
