At the end of the latest video in tinmans docu series it gives an update on each runner for Jeff's it said he wore Nike Dragonfly's for his last race and is no longer on the team but is coached by Joan Hunter still

The video in question. Seems incredibly harsh for a guy like Jeff. I mean, this isn't someone like Centro wearing Adidas spikes at the Olympics or something. Does Jeff even have a monetary contract from Adidas?

Maybe he was so desperate that by the time Stumptown rolled around he was like "I have just got to do anything a can to shave seconds off my time" aka with the dragonflys, Adidas be damned. Then, once he left the team or the team left him (?) he realized "s*** I have nowhere to go, nor do I really want to move" aka Joan it is

shame on Adidas for not getting their superspikes out to TME earlier, then this wouldn't have happened. Hell, Elly Henes was wearing them in the NCAA final, surely you can get your sponsored team up to speed?
Once Nike put out the "un branded" shoe , and said paint what you want on it , adidas and others dug in. asics and nike make the best super spikes.

Totally fair. He had a job, made a severe violation of the rules and got fired for it. It would be like the head coach at Stanford wearing Cal gear, big no no.
Can bet it wasn’t TME’s decision but almost for sure coming down from adidas. Jeff probably thought putting on Dragonflys would give him the last two seconds needed to OTQ but didn’t have a great day.
Doesn't Sam say in like the first video from this series (maybe the second) that they'd all signed a deal with adidas? Around when they're having that lame sit down to talk about punting the coach.
The new Adidas Ambition are pretty good for milers.... pretty sure he would have got the new Avanti with carbon rods pretty soon.... Bit harsh of them but also a bit stupid of him.

He actually left TME, I see he's been racing unattached in his last few races.

From my understanding, every member of TME is under a "team contract" which probably stipulates they must only wear Adidas apparel and shoes.
I believe only Drew, Sam, Reed and Jordan are the only athletes on the team with Adidas professional contracts while the rest of the team are under contract of the "team" which is an Adidas supported group (eg. the rest of the team get free apparel and shoes but aren't supported financially or don't receive bonuses etc.).
At the end of the day it sucks to see his involvement in the team coming to an end due to a rule within the "team contract" and the fact that he wasn't even a major runner on the scene (unsponsored and let's be honest... no one noticed he wore dragonflys).
