I recently bought a Fenix 5 on clearance and I tried it out over a 10 mile /16km course that I've measured numerous times and it seems to under measure. Anyone else notice this? What can I do to solve this or will it correct itself with more usage?

it is more likely that the track has changed size. garmin gps is rock solid.
I have not had problems with distance accuracy. Have you checked the settings to determine tracking rate? Might need to adjust this.
My problems, like everyone else, is the altitude. Have tried every solution available and still can’t get accurate readings. I do half a dozen 14ers a year and always have 500’+ differences in net elevation on round trips.
Since too many people whine about battery life, garmin decided to not default to 1-second recording which means it loses distance since it only saves every six seconds, loses turns etc. and that adds up over miles.
Unless you've already fixed that, go through your settings and make sure it's not set to "smart recording" in run mode.
Also, set it to GPS + GLONASS (or GALILEO in some parts of the world) for better tracking.
It is still not that great especially with latest firmwares, if you want the best accuracy - get a Stryd and calibrate it.
Just curious, how much did it under measure by? My Forerunner seems to be consistently 1% to 3% short.
update the firmware to the latest build.
I love the Fenix 5 but it has features I could care less about (other sports like golf, swimming). I did get it at a discount for $150 so not complaining.
Still figuring out its features.
