Signed up for an 800m next Saturday on a lark. Did not know the meet was occurring so, have not done any 800m specific training.
Mainly been doing steady miles, alternating a tempo or v02 max on the weekend, but nothing serious. have built and been holding around 50-60k a week (coming off non-running related injury which kept me from running through the spring).
I have a 5k race this Sunday, the 800m is the following week, what would an ideal week before workout?
I am thinking 3X400m with full rest, thoughts?
Previous PB from my one and only 800m was a poorly paced 2:14, (62, 72) predications for this one?
