Katir looked awfully good for the winter as well when he had that base training session of 20x300 on sweat elite. He's slowing down the last ten meters to the finish of each but still doing high 41s/low 42s. So, when exactly did he stop his alleged doping plan?
Spanish national record holder over the 1500m, 3000m and 5000m - Mo Katir - is in the middle of base training and preparing for race indoors in a couple of m...
Your grasp of the facts leaves much to be desired. He ran 7:27 on the day at Gateshead where there was basically no wind, and 11 of the 13 in the field PB'ed.
He didn't jog at all in Monaco, in fact he couldn't catch Tim and was definitely flat-out...
He ran 3:48 indoors this year, and was also second at Millrose. Yes, he has had a couple of bad races as of recent, but that doesn’t mean he was doping last year
It's not so much that McSweyn has white skin, and Katir has brown(?) skin, it's that McSweyn didn't come out of nowhere at age 23 improving his 1500m pb by 9 seconds, his 5000m pb by a minute etc. Also, as far as I know, McSweyn didn't state this year that he has recovered well from his covid and was set on breaking El G's 1500m WR.

White = Clean for most Letsrun posters and Katir doesn't even have a white name. So he can't be clean.
Not true. Russians = always white, and at the same time Russians = always doped.
All athletes will look for whatever advantage they can regardless of skin. Ncaa baseball players use peds, hs football players do. I assume all runners are seeking whatever advantage they can including ji, Sr, Ben Johnson, time to start a thread 'athletes we know aren't doping'. It will be a short thread
Probably when he started competing again. Testing in Spain is clearly a joke.
Man, you like to claim you're anti-doping, but you defend Makhloufi and Katir.
He's in the RTP, so he's under the AIU purview in addition to Spain. Even in Katir's races this year he's had impressive moments and looks fit but lacking some finish. I'd wait to see how Katir does in more important races, we all jumped the gun on both him and McSweyn last year and neither were sniffing a medal. Makhloufi is far more suspect than Katir with his Jama Aden connection, syringes, and bizarre competition record.
I was looking for the race of Steve Cram in 1987, 5000m, to joke about his performance 13 mins 52. And I found another mousquetaire from England who for one decided to confront Aouita in a 5000m.
Funny how even after reporting this thread as defamatory to Katir Let’s run still doesn’t take it down. But God forbid you call someone a hobbyjogger. Removed immediately. So biased

Cut McSweyn some slack. He was the clear number 3 for the entire season and only had one bad 1500 race all year (unfortunately it happened to be the Olympic final).
Katir was one of the greatest athletes of all time for 5 weeks, but has otherwise been completely unremarkable. Just looking at any of his other races you’d never guess he’s as fast as he is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more bizarre performance record.
Not sure how losing to multiple athletes in a 5,000 missing a half-dozen guys and to a banged-up Tim in the 1500 would make him one of the greatest ever. He ran nice times in lightning-fast races, but taking them out of context is lazy.

That was certainly his trajectory. Back in the real world, you don't improve your 1500m time by 9 seconds, your 5000m time by a minute, at age 23, in the space of a few months, and then just stop there. Unless of course, there's something else going on.

I mean Justyn Knight had a similar breakthrough year and is nowhere to be seen. Katir was a 3:36/7:44 guy in 2020. With him getting COVID and such, this year has been disrupted and let’s not count him out in early June. Also weird after a race where he slowed thinking there was a restart and then had to waste energy. Not a huge shock his last 100 he ran 15+ going backwards

Come on dude, don’t make me agree with Coevett here. I’m not saying Mo Katir is 100% on drugs but there is nothing normal about his career progression. He’s like no 10 all time in the 1500 and 15 in the 3000 (probably around 20 in the 5k too), and that’s just from a month of racing last season. That’s a big deal for someone who didn’t even medal at European Indoors.

C'mon mate, you're doing yourself a diservice by twisting facts to defend somebody as dubious as Katir. What part of Justyn Knight's progression is as sudden as Katir's exactly?
Anyone wondering why the sport is almost dead only has to spend 5 minutes looking at the msg board here.
