I always wonder with (usually female) sprinters with really long hair is that surely if they had bald heads they would be both lighter and more aerodynamic, and therefore faster?

Studies back in the mid-70s did state long hair decreased speed. As I had long hair in high school, my coach brought me a magazine that did the study and wanted me to cut my hair, even though I was an 880-2-miler.
I immediately assumed that the post-race background scream came not from Philip upon finding out she had finished second and thus made the Olympic team, but from Asher-Smith finding out she had run 10.97 instead of 10.71.
This is the problem with watching sprinting, there's no way to know how fast the runners are going. You're just waiting for the clock. Proves my point that they need a wavelight for visual aid.

I'm not sure I like the wavelight at the finish. I think I like there being doubt. Like in a distance race, turn it off automatically with 200 to go? I'm not sure of this but am wondering if that's better?
