Her coach Dennis Mitchell wants her on anchor the Relay coach wants her on 3rd leg. They are willing to let her run.Honestly she is the best possible anchor but she and Mitchell should take what they can get.

Rae's take?
I see her on anchor and winning but then DQ for throwing the stick more drama ensues
why does the relay coach want her 3rd?
Somebody will drop the stick anyway.
She will get the team DQed when she tests positive again. Either that or she will run slow without her gateway drug.

Normally I don't get into theories but I think it's a control thing, she is in my mind the best candidate for anchor but even though all legs are important the anchor is looked at as the most important leg. As Rae Edwards put it the Glory leg.
3rd should obviously be given to one of the 200m runners, you know they can run a good bend.

Yes you saw it too?
A Lot of Coaches put their Fastest Runner on 2nd Leg, I had not heard of putting the best runner on 3rd leg before. Any Experts on the theories for putting the best runner at 4 x 100 on any leg other than anchor?
I would put her on either the opening leg or anchor leg for one reason - her nails. There could be an increased possibility of a drop if she needs to both receive and hand off the baton. I would hate to see the US drop the baton because of something like that. I understand that FloJo did not have any issues but it COULD be an issue.
Her start is atrocious, definitely not the opening leg.
Honestly I would leave her off. I don't think she'll test positive again, but do you really want to put everyone else's silver medals in jeapordy if she were to?

Hope you don’t drive any fire water there bub.
Third is the leg Allyson Felix often runs, but no one can possibly pretend she belongs on the 4x100 again (she'll be on the 4x400), so I suppose that leg is "open" to Richardson.
Back when Flojo was the fastest in the 100, she got put on the third leg, leaving Ashford for the anchor. Ashford did have more experience on relays.
There are all kinds of theories.

No it's not! She has never run 3rd leg for the U.S. at the Worlds or Olympics. She runs 2nd leg.

I comes down
A) are you a good starter? If so leg 1
b) can you run the curve well? Leg 3
C) how good are you at exchanges? If you suck do 1 or 4.
In the 400 you can worry about people who run better from the front or the back but the 100m is pretty much all out.
Let her run anchor. Odds are that means she doesn't get to race🤣
Nails are not a problem at all if you do the hand off even remotely correct

Everyone saw it. You just can't post crap and not credit your source, you trying to pretend like you are in the know and you watched it the same as everyone else.
Jenna Prandini and Gabby Thomas are now officially on the 4x100 team. They’re out two best 200m runners and are excellent on the turns. I’d give Jenna lead-off and Gabby third leg. Daniels second leg and Oliver anchor.

My apologies I'll post the source next time but can you try not to make assumptions.
