The Sha'Carri ban is good for the sport

This post is confused and borderline incoherent. Sorry.

I can definitely agree with this she was already attracting attention from audiences outside the sport, and now she's got even more attention.

So many Twitter posts about the whole situation which means so many people are way off point of what actually happened and who to blame.

One guy was saying "it don't matter she from Oregon she was running in Tokyo u can't smoke there" etc etc

As Russell Dinkins pointed out, it's nice that AOC is bringing attention to this, but she's calling out the IOC or some other entity who has nothing to do with the ban.

Strange times.

I agree in some respect that she’s getting attention from this but I think she’d get way more if she did something special in Tokyo

Everything about Richardson is bad for the sport. She's a total loser. Drug addict, can't speak proper english, behaves like a child. She's like the Dennis Rodman of track and field.

We need more like Sydney McLaughlin. This Richardson clown gets more attention than Sydney and it's bad for the sport.

Track and Field needs stars. A lot of people who would have never known about Sha'Carri Richardson now do, and are rallying behind her. A humor Instagram account with hundreds of thousands of followers posted about her today. That doesn't happen if you win gold in Tokyo.

I'm not saying it's necessarily even a good thing that people are getting so interested. But it makes SR more famous, and will result in more $ for her, and potentially T&F , in the long run.

Yep, the focus should be on Athing and Sydney and instead we have a clown representing the sport.

1% of Americans care about track and field.

68% of Americans think that weed should be legal.

It's not even close. Sha'carri Richardson will get WAY more attention for getting banned for weed than for winning an Olympic gold medal.

Her weed ban is on the evening news, in major newspapers, all over social media. Tweets about it from a congresswoman, an NFL quarterback. Etc

Whether or not it helps grow the sport of track and field is a totally different thing. But it's certainly going to turn Sha'carri Richardson into a very well known person.

I am impressed with her that she womaned up and said I knowingly did it. My hat's off to her. I hope she bounced back stronger and with a vengeance.

Now let Houlihan and all those other drug cheats stop with the burrito nonsense and woman and man up as well.
