I came up with something of a variation to the Summer of Malmo to fit my likings;
Mon: easy run
Tue: 8-12 x 150, 200, OR 300 with 90 sec standing rest
Wed: easy run
Thur: easy run
Fri: 4-6 mile tempo or 4-6 x 1200, 1600, OR 2000 with 90 sec standing rest
Sat: easy run
Sun: off
My derivations from the Summer of Malmo:
- I like standing rest instead of jogging rests
- 16-24 short reps is too many imo for speed work, 8-12 seems ideal
- No doubles
However, I stick to the long reps and tempo for strength and short reps for speed formula.
