That is true, but didn't the college kids come at him first? Or if I remember it was all the letsrun keyboard warriors clowning Centro that he almost lost to Hocker in a 5k that Centro literally jogged and did with zero speed training after coming from altitude and Hocker was mid season in college.

Either way, if Hocker goes we have two medal contenders that is if Kenya doesn't pull something and change team and put Tim Cher back in.

Thing is, Centro still ran really good. Hockers kick is just magical. I think Centros probably in shock he actually got run down for once.

My post was not saying Engels was better. Hocker ran the better race. Statistically though, Engels is better though if you want to just put it that way. And as far as I'm concerned he isn't on the team yet? Tell your keyboard warriors to stop riding this guy and get real. You think he isn't a medal contender so go calm down the kids.

Oh okay, never mind the multiple championships since then.

Maybe it’s just because he always looks so relaxed, but it didn’t seem like Centro went to his top gear with 100 to go. Thought he was clear of the field and then got surprised by Hocker and couldn’t answer. Heck of a race by both.

Tactically, the one major thing I saw was Centro ran the first two laps almost entirely in lane two while Hocker stayed on the rail.

Centro ran further and had to run a little harder than Hocker over the first 1400m.

Other than that, Hocker simply beat him.

That’s part of racing.
