Sorry- but if that happens in Tokyo it’s a DQ. It should have 100% been a DQ tonite. She clearly cut her off and impeded her stride sending her to the track. Not even a close call.
Please. If you care so much and are SO certain, contact the meet officials.

lol nice troll she had someone decide to try run through her and tripped up because of it if anything the girl who tripped was in the wrong
Athing did nothing wrong. She was simply running down a dream.
I guess, you don't know how it feels?
I hate to say it but women have some kind of problem with the merge that the men don't. Women's 800 - athlete falls on the merge. Women's 1500 - near fall on the merge. It's like the women feel they have to merge as soon as possible, leading to falls. In the Men's 1500, the guys took nearly the entire backstretch to merge and nobody got clipped or pushed.

Mu kind of cut her off, but had established her position in front of her for a step or 2 before the trip up. At least that is what I see.

Nia Akins knows how it feels, and that’s exactly what she was doing until Mu came crashing in on her and chopped her stride and sent her Olympic dreams to the mondo.
LR Posters called it weeks ago. She’s inexperienced competing in the 800m at a world-class level and it shows. She didn’t have the space to cut in front of Akins. She hadn’t cleared her.
She’s an amazing talent and fun to watch- but she shouldn’t be going to Tokyo.

Mu runs a clear diagonal and is way infront of Akins thats Akins problem sorry get out harder or then if you are behind dont try and fight for space which isnt yours

At 4:05. There is contact, Akins puts up her arm to try and give Mu a heads up that she’s there, and then Akins veers left to try to avoid it.
Mu just didn’t realize all those girls can go out in 28. She thought she was clear of the field and she wasn’t at all. Sad.

Clearly not.

That is the same way they drive. I am very serious on this.
the runner that is ahead has the right of way.
you have to back off.

Nia Akins did something strange. She was headed inside (while Athing was straight ahead) where she would have been clear but instead came back out. Nia basically ran into Athing's foot.
If it had been worse Nia would have gotten the DQ.
athing was running straight line to the objective.
the 156 flat,
so she can do the 155x now.
i had her for 154 mid high this year. as do many others.
maybe a stretch, agreed, that is today.
she's just getting back to the 8. and is on an upward trajectory.
there won't be any 153 without aerobic work.
that's for sure.
You clearly don’t know the rules of the sport. This post is idiotic.
