I had 4 “incidents” during my run today.
1. I was running at the side of a road and a car hit the accelerator as it approached me. Then, when it was 20 meters past me, it beeped its horn and stopped. I stopped turned around and was getting ready to fight if necessary, but he carried on driving eventually. I have a suspicion the driver had been drinking.
2. A gang of teenagers wouldn’t let me past on a narrow path. I turned around and took another route. Kids carry knives these days, so better safe than sorry.
3. A teenage couple smirked to each other as I jogged past and then said something to each other and watched me run by with a goofy grin on their faces. Maybe I was being too sensitive, but it felt like they were being dicks.
4. A cyclist rode past me and shouted “Get those knees up!” It was said in a faux-encouraging manner. Also, I don’t need or want any encouragement. I just want to run.
How do you deal with this kind of crap?
