So close to lose to a cheating Chelimo and doping BTC members. He’s the champion in my heart. What a phenomenal season: 3:50, 13:13, and 2 NCAA titles. He’s the future for American distance running.

Lets Run scours Tik Tok and Twitter for the lowest of the low and recruits them as posters here so they can posture as cool and hip.

What prize does he get for being a champion in your heart? I'm sure all the champs who got it done on the track and on the field this weekend must be dying to know what they're missing out on!

He gets the satisfaction of knowing in his heart that he’s the real winner of that race.

After the year he has had and considering he runs for Oregon / Nike I would say it's reasonable to speculate that he cheats just as much as Woody or anyone else.
You guys can chill out. Teare is not as honest as you think and given opportunity he will join "the gray zone".

I was under the impression that alphas didn’t make excuses.

How do you know about Teare’s honesty, Sosa, I mean Sopa?

Teare has told me he has run 21.6 200m from the blocks.
There is no way on the planet he can dip under 23 from the blocks.
He's a bright star for USA T&F. So proud of him. I watched Pre in '72 Olympics and both gave everything in heroic fights. He's also impressive in interviews. As a native Oregonian, I'm proud of the kind of leader he is.
Agree. Athletes are "country shopping" for a place they can dominate their sport if that country is difficult to make the team.

Why do people keep comparing him to Pre? Just because he went to Oregon, runs the 5K, and watched Prefontaine? He's nothing like Pre. It's a weird comparison people keep making
Alphas don't make excuses. Betas make excuses and win in their heart. I don't know what you call someone who says someone won in their heart, but it's even worse than a beta. A charlie?

That's kind of weird and a little over the top. Okay, he's a really good collegiate runner. He ran a good race today in the 5000m, but not any more "heroic" than several others in the race. I just don't get this emerging narrative that the three in front of him were evil cheating villains, and good honest Coopie almost defeated their dastardly ways in heroic fashion.

Maybe you should make him a "Champion in My Heart" certificate to reward him.
OK, so Teare is the "real" champ then. Bor is the "real" runner-up, and the next finisher with the standard is Eric Jenkins. Your alternate universe US Olympic team members in the 5000m.
