He caused a stir by calling out Tinman Elite a couple years ago. He just got 12th in the 10k at the Olympic Trials and 7th in the 5k at the Olympic Trials.
Dude backed it up.

Pretty good result for him in the 5000, especially considering he got absolutely wiped in the last 400 at NCAAs. Took some big scalps (Jenkins, Mead, I guess you could also throw in Young and Mantz).
Aaaand Tinman (stolen name) Elite got 1/10 people into the trials and he finished outside the top 10 in a soft event (steeple).
Yeah I enjoyed him showing his face in both the 10 and the 5, that was great fun. Probably a little too much racing recently for him, likely did not come into today's race the freshest. Hoping he makes some noise on the way to worlds next year.
Drew Hunter's best ever finish at a USATF outdoor championship was 5th, Brandt was just 7th. And the 5k this year was SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than in 2019.
Morgan Beadlescomb in 8th comes as more of a surprise.
With the NCAA East Preliminary Round, NCAA Championships, and Olympic Trials, Brandt has raced, at an incredibly high level, 50km in less than a month. Seven races. That's pretty amazing for a collegian. It's pretty amazing for anyone. In contrast, Bowerman athletes rarely race that much in an entire season.
Yup. I enjoyed watching him race at the trials.
Well done Robert.
Agree. Great job. Competed in each event and did very well. Look forward to watching his career.
Runs close to the front and gets smoked with 400 to go. Brandt is a true Tinman.
I respect him just for getting out and racing. In the past two weeks he’s raced more than the entire TME crew has all season.
There is no one on this planet tougher than him because the male announcer stated he had run ?thousands of races.
I just had to correct myself because Mantz is just as tough because he’s run the same number of races.
Well it's not like we don't know Mantz is tough too. 50k of racing in 5 weeks is insane for both of them. Respect.
Mantz did not run the 5k at NCAA regionals or NCAA's so Brandt is tougher
Your correct my error.
Robert also helped Georgetown get good results this year. Jack Salisbury did not break four minutes before Robert arrived on the scene. Many of the Hoyas were energized by having Robert first in Flagstaff and then in DC. Robert broke the Georgetown 10000m record two or three times and the 5000m record once. Two of the 10000m records were run before he stepped on campus.
