Took them out to lane 4.
fisher just gave chelimo props on hte post race interview for the move pushing htem out into hte lanes lol pretty funny. im sure he knows itw as a dirty move himself but what a poised interview to give.
glad the 3 of them made the team anyways and that paul's bs at the end of the race didnt somehow screw over woody or grant from qualifying too. they clearly all had the killer kick to deserve the spots
Should usa send him? suppose he think's that's funny in tokyo too?

Ideally, Grant should've cut inside of PC, so they'd have him on both sides. Ch can't throw body-blocks in both directions at once. He blocks one of them; the other wins the race.
It’s a f*cking race.
Not a burrito track club intrasquad time trial.
what is the difference between pushing them to lane 2 or lane 4. If we DQ every lane 2 it would mean every race wouldn't count. There was no contact.

I agree
There is nothing wrong with finishing in lane 4, it is not against the rules. Re-watch the race and see who does the impeding during the race. And Chelimo was telling Kincaid to back off because Kincaid was running on his heels. See what happens in the 1,500, someone is bound to finish in lane 2 or 3 or maybe 4.

gotta do what you gotta do to beat dopers #cleansport
Not bad as Green breaking Sage's wrist move.

Lack of contact has nothing to do with it. The RULES says that you aren't allowed to impede another runners progress by moving over a lane to block them.

And now we know why most of the posters here wound up on the XC team in HS insteads of football or soccer.
There are multiple discussions on the same topic. They need to be merged. Below is from one of them:

someone saying this is DQ want to cite the rule that he could be DQed under?
Rule 163 (3): a competitor must run in a direct line after entering the final straightaway of any race with two or more turns unless there is another runner in his or her path (paraphrased a bit).
Chelimo was in the lead, so there was no one in his path, and certainly no need for him to move from Lane 1 to Lane 4 to make his way to the finish line. He did it to obstruct the other two runners. Dirty move, especially for a guy who complained the whole race about people making incidental contact with him.

This is why you're a jogger
Good grief … not even close to being close to warranting a DQ.

Can you point out where Fisher and/or Kincaid were impeded?

Hopefully in Tokyo the rest of the world will get the message that Grant Fisher and all others who learned to race in the US should be given a clear path at all times during races and no runner is to bump them or run at a pace that is not to their liking. Wouldn't want to take themout of his comfort zone or anything.!

My thoughts exactly. That soldier did what it took to not let burrito power steal another one.

Fisher actually impeded Kincaid by running out to lane 4. Fisher should be the one DQ'd. Fisher was trying to pass on the outside on the turn and didn't get it. Once Chelimo hit the final straight Fisher had a chance to go inside and take the lane. Instead, he obstructed and impeded the 3rd place finisher.

It wasn’t who are these betas demanding it. Chelimo veered in a straight line. Classic racing.
