Because Mo Farah wasn't even British to begin with.
And Josh Kerr still has a stronger Scottish accent than Jake Wightman.
Josh Kerr was a talented teen before he moved to the USA. Mo had seemingly reached his level of being not quite world class, and was in his mid twenties when turned into a GOAT by slippery Sal.
No doubt moving to the USA has helped Kerr, but he would probably be a top Brit regardless.

I have a hard time considering somebody who blossomed as a runner elsewhere as an American runner, but if they came here early enough and developed here, they are legit US.
These guys who came here after developing in other countries are as American as it gets, for sure. But I think most of us take pride in runners that have developed the whole of their talents over here. It is all convoluted, but racism is not the root here.
Farrah spent more time in the UK than Kerr.
Kerr is an Edinburgh private school kid with a weird hybrid fake accent now,you won’t find many Scots who actually sound like him if you came here..

He definitely has an odd accent.
I lived and worked in Edinburgh for a brief spell and in the pubs and clubs it’s full of private school kids with dodgy accents like that.
They tend to vary between the ones who inflect dodgy American speech,Uber posh english sounding accents or the worst ones who try convince you they are rough and adopt some weird council scheme kid lingo that sounds so wrong in their posh voices to an authentic scheme boy like myself..
Scottish people don’t sound anything like Josh Kerr in general if any US running fan is under that illusion.

Being a scouser is different to being British. You could become British quite quickly (e.g. if you are an immigrant, if you marry someone British). Becoming a scouser would probably take a lot longer or never happen.
The majority of people where Farah grew up were white, though there is a large minority of Asians. I think he lived in England for about 10 years - school and then St Mary's. So in addition to being British, he is probably quite culturally British.
He is not very ethnically British. Most British people are Anglo-Saxon. I think this may be what some people are getting at.
Also, going to Kenya is a pretty British thing to do.
To be fair, Mo is not genetically English.
Unlike America where the natives largely got genocided and the land was settled by lots of different ethnicities (one in particular against their will), English is a tribe.
Now Mo grew up in England and considers himself English and is an English citizen so he is very much English from that viewpoint
Just as an update, he has not accepted his hypocrisy and was very celebratory this past weekend.

Well Kerr was "sort of" force here. Not smart enough for British University but smart enough to get into a USA one. He's said that.
English is not an ethnicity. Its a nationality and a language.
You'll find the UK "white" is a complex mixture of ethnic backgrounds including Britons, Angles, Jutes, Saxons and Normans. The language also reflects these roots.
And then as a result of the Empire, Colonies and Commonwealth - the UK has had significant immigration from pretty much every country in the world. These have all left their imprint on the genetics and culture in general. Just look at food - The British national dish is Tikka Masala ffs. They drink wine from New Zealand, beer from Holland and cheese from France. Carribean, Hong Kong and Ethiopian restaurants can be found everywhere. Those of Chinese ethnicity make better chips than most white fish and chip outlets. The national football song is Vindaloo. (As a great example, the USA football league started chanting this at games but for relevance had to change the food to "BBQ")
The country, especially London, is the melting pot of the world. The idea of a standard British or English ethnicity is laughable.
If anything, Mo Farah is the perfect example of a modern day Brit. Roots from far and wide but calls London "home".
