Shoved flagrantly out of fifth by Rebecca Mehra. Shady way to secure your spot, but use what you’ve got, I guess.

She wasn't shoved, she ran out of gas and stepped on the rail.
I wish the camera angle was better. The push didn't look that bad, but it was bad enough to make Maclane stumble hard. Is this something she can challenge and get into the final? I was really rooting for her! Surprised she sat in the middle of the pack for so long :(
Rebecca did not cause McClean to falter.
should have focused on the 800
I don't know how you can say that when there was definitely contact.
right? It wasn’t running out of gas or a misstep. Mehra basically bulldozed her way through at MacLean’s expense.

No, Mehra ran a straight line to the finish, Heather was all over the place, she was running on fumes. You must be from Pee body.

Sure looked like contact. Bummer it was the slow heat. Perhaps a challenge gets her in?
I believe she is declared for the 800 as well.
Was she DQ’d for stepping on the rail? I thought she made it in on time. If she was DQ’d for that, that’s ridiculous. There was no advantage gained.
Also, does Dani Jones not have the standard? I think she can finish top 3, but I’m not sure the final will be fast enough.

No the second heat had the next two fastest times. Such a bummer.

If you watch the replay, Mehra goes from lane 2 to lane 1 and at that moment bumps Maclean. Maclean starts flailing, steps on the rail, and stumbles.

Maclean will probably protest. Good chance she gets put into the finals.

She would make it based on rankings
Looks like MacLean is in the final.

She's in on protest.
I would love to see 3 New Balance girls make it to Tokyo in the 1500 and zero Nike girls!

So instead of running the 800m on two rounds of the 1500m, now Heather will race the 1500m final and have no chance at making either team.
Not the smartest tactic. She lost her legs heading to the line tonight and was gifted a pass through.
Does anyone else think Mehra faked the thing about buying groceries for those old people? Really got a lot of mileage out of it. Would be a classic Stanford thing to do to put on her cv for med school or whatever.
