He was the only one on that track who had any sack whatsoever.
Let's slow clap old Benny for always having the cajones.

Participation trophy
He will have the greatest redemption in history with the 5,000. I think he will outkick chelimo to take 3rd. Fisher 1st, Teare 2nd, True 3rd.
Bravo Ben, you were my favorite. Way to lay it all out.
You make us old guys proud.
Young doped up phenoms are difficult to kick down. I really wanted Lopez and true to go 1-2
Is Benny entered in the 5K as well?
And has also given the best interview in the letsrun podcast’s history
The guys is awesome. If you love running, you need to be a Ben True fan.
Hoping the burrito track club cheaters get busted so that he makes the team. Also hoping he runs a solid 5,000.
Best US distance runner to never make an Olympic team?
No he didn't, he tried to leave it for the last lap and got dusted. But blue collar ftw, or something!
Great guy. Bummed he just missed. Glad he has a kid on the way.

Or Worlds.
True has missed two world's teams in three attempts at 5K/10K, all with 4th place, and missed his previous Olympic shot with a fifth. So 4th, 4th, 5th, 4th and now 4th again. He has some kind of record for being the bridesmaid, staring hungrily at the altar.
He does have the 5000 Oly standard, along with 12 others.

If Fisher runs the 5 makes the team in the 5 and doesn’t run the 10 True would run in Tokyo. I hope that’s what happens

He made worlds in 2015 in both the 5/10.

I'll give him credit for being a national class runner and giving it a good shot. But his race wasn't brilliant and it is absurd to say that he was the only one who showed balls. There were three guys who finished ahead of him who ran tough, positioned themselves well, and outkicked your hero.
Was hoping for True, but toward the end his shoulder was sagging and he seemed to be loping along. He didn't seem to have as much in the tank as the leaders and it looked like it in the last few laps.
Needed a burrito I guess.
