I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't. I don't know why she wouldn't race all spring if not for injury. It will be interesting to see on Saturday

I hope she does .

Of course she will start but I feel like anything anyone here has to say about what kind of shape she is in has zero credibility

Yes, I think she makes it. They need 3 team members in the steeplechase. After Coburn and Frerichs, who else is there? Allie O is hurt. Valerie Constein maybe? Even at this point, I can see Frerichs falling apart too. As long as Quigley is anywhere close to her form, she's making the team.
I don't think we've seen Falland's best yet. I don't think she beats a fully in shape quigly, but I think she could be in shape to run under her PR (9:18). If she Quigley's not somewhat fit I don't think she makes it.
Also Marissa Howard has been running incredibly well and has an axe to grind with CQ
Gault has more faith in her than me.
Shelby doesn’t race all year and we find out she had a positive test.
Quigley doesn’t race all year and…

...gets a big new sponsorship deal from Lululemon?
To be honest, I'd like to see CQ go and get an Olympic medal; it's faintly embarrassing seeing her disproportionate profile and (presumed) income but she's perfectly likeable, so let's have her threaten nine minutes and bring the universe back into balance please.

No level headed responses allowed.
Why is everyone so obsessed with the need to race frequently? It seems like a throwback to high school and college competition to have rust busters, controlled efforts, etc and rooted in an athlete's insecurity rather than a belief in one's fitness.
US women's steeple is not super competitive like the 1500 or 5000. We have a clear top three then a gap to the next tier of talent. Also, 30 inch barriers are not much of an impediment to a 5' 9" tall runner and the Kenyans prove time and again that technique is not that important. It's the Trials so anything can happen but, unless she has poor fitness, falls, or gets a DQ, I think Quigley makes the team.
Frerichs might have gotten bronze in Doha if she had been in more highly competitive races earlier in that season. Admittedly most of the other BTC in Doha did about as well as possible.
Coburn, Frerichs, Norris. Quigley will DNF.
Norris isn’t racing the steeple?

People can have the same last name. A person with the last name Norris won NCAAs and has run 9:31 this year.

Quigley did race in February actually.

I agree. I don't follow the various goings-on as others here obviously do, but I haven't seen anything indicating that Quigley is hurt, which is about the only way she ever fails to hit performance standards. She's seriously competitive at the flat races (not always true of steeple specialists) and has fine technique for the event and a strong finish. She's tactically astute. And I suspect that she's better off on her own, without the worries of team goals and intramural competition and drama. (Not that there's been any drama at BTC lately.)
Unless she is currently injured, she’ll be fine and finish top three. The only thing that’s held her back from breaking 9 is constantly struggling with injuries. People forget that she made her first olympics after having a stress fracture and not being about to run for a while. If I remember correctly, she didn’t run at all from Late March to May and then just slowly started to get back into running shape. She’s improved since then, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she throws down a fast time.
I'm inclined to agree. I think she was very near nine-flat shape leading up to the 2017 world championships, when she got DQed for stepping on the white line coming off a crowded water jump. And her middle-distance speed seems to have gotten better since then.
Ill bet anyone 100 bucks Quigley doesn’t make the team.
Colleen has the correct professional approach to social media. Use it as a business tool . Just like Maria Sharapova . Everything is a product promotion online , and do your sport and let those results speak for themselves offline. I think she will finish 2nd , with a dog fight for 3rd between 2 others.
