Subjects that were injected with 150 mg nandrolone IM had PEAK levels similar to Houlihan(5ng/ml was their peak at 30 hours). The drug has <3% oral absorption. She would have had to taken a GIANT dose of oral drug to get her levels that high.
Maybe someone injected her without her knowledge, told her it was something else. But she's absolutely dirty.
So how does the tainted meat excuse work then? Athletes have gotten off using it before -- and I'd hope the WADA wouldn't have let them if the numbers were off by this many orders of magnitude.

Please post a study that shows absorption through food. Not an extracted oral consumption but something that you would get naturally. Usually vitamins are absorbed best naturally.
Ok, I guess clenbuterol contamination is the subject most of the previous cases and this has been physiologically validated.
Any chance WADA can run IRMS to determine a 'natural' C13/C12 ratio? Although it seems that some synthetic nandrolone preps can overlap with natural ratios.

This study also had the exact same levels, though...
So I'm lost. Maybe she was doping, maybe she wasn't. Its too bad she doesn't have like a urine test every single day. That would make it much easier to say, "hey, accidental ingestion" if every day leading up to that she was clean.

You can Google the one from 2000 where 3 guys(like 175lbs) at 300 gms of boar and ended up with levels between 2.5-7.5. Or the couple of other studies that replicated it. Obviously small sample sizes and only much larger men but we are talking about something that is possible.
Now the odds of that meat being in her local taco truck? Seems unlikely...

Yeah, where would they get boar meat? Are there a lot of wild boars around Portland? Are they buying it on the black market? Given the amount of effort to kill wild pigs/boars I would think the meat would be a lot more expensive than what you buy from the supermarket - to say nothing of the fact that it probably doesn't taste good.

No human studies available. Just this one in pigs. Take it for what it's worth. But there's a reason we don't ingest testosterone for supplementation. It's widely known to have poor oral bioavailability. This is anabolic steroids are injected or transferred across the skin.
The excuses get more bizarre every year....it's akin to going to a jail and they will all say they are innocent. Where can I get the burritos she was eating?

testosterone level when she tested "positive ' for Nandrolone will help establish her guilt or innocence.
Since an increase in testosterone is associated with an increase in hematocrit those levels should be checked also.

Never believe an attorney statement outside of a court room. He is under no obligation to tell you truth. He is, on the other hand, under an ethical obligation to defend his client.
I'd be careful comparing various studies done potentially years apart using (likely) different instrumentation and technology. The LOD, LOQ, and experimental procedures (and results!) could be wildly different from one study to another. I don't work in doping but I have done similar work for many years.
The fact she got whacked with 4y is telling but I'd still like to hear far more details than have been presented so far.
Attorney's have to ask the tough question though: what shoes were you wearing at the time?!
