to discuss all of the great races that will go on today at the women's finals!!
The meet is on ESPNU which a lot of people do not get. Does anybody have a link to a live stream online? I understand it may not be up and running yet with the meet three hours away but can someone post one when the meet starts please? Thanks.
Just want to say Mercy Chelangat of Alabama has some of the best longer LONGER distance speed that I have seen. Back in Arkansas at the John McDonald Invitational she won the 5k and in the last mile -- get this! -- ran 4:39 IN THE LAST MILE of that 5k, and her SPLITS were 71, 69, 69, and 68. Her coaches have told me she just has got this HUGE engine. And she just kind of runs really just unassuming, not thinking about everything, and then she just turns that speed on, and it is a whole OTHER gear.

Uh...did you see the 10K? She couldn't get the clutch to engage.

Wooooooooooooooosssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Actually I talked to Mercy Chelangat and in this race especially she's really trying to control her mind. She always runs from the front. She's got a SICK close. She gets faster and FASTER as the race goes on. Chelangat said "LISTEN". She said, "I want to make sure the RHYTHM that I run with the SPEED is more controlled". She said she's been doing a lot of THINGS in practice for that faster STUFF, a lot of repeat 600s coming through in 68-70, just to work on that pace. She said she's really excited to get out here just to see how she can control the RHYTHM of that SPEED.
Thanks for the insights. Just have to ask, though, how do you decide which words to CAP and which ones NOT too?
Anybody else trying to watch this on ESPN.com? It's 6:03 and it still says it hasn't started yet.
Well ESPN isn't working but I found this (until it gets shut down)
Can’t wait for Jill Montgomery to point out knees and divulge workouts that have replaced mileage. Cringe
big upset imo
Camp over Hurta
BYU about to pick up some points. 10 from Camp in the 1500 and I believe 10 more from Wayment in the steeple.

She's awful. Why does a former multi athlete think the best way to analyze distance races is to incorrectly tell us how they train? Just talk about the damn race.
I turned it on and the first thing I heard out of her mouth was her saying the 1500 meter was a sprint. how in the world can someone who says that be the lead analyst on ESPN?
Another upset
Great finish for the Air Force girl

Wow, I thought that was a troll thread but they're right. There is a ton of butt cheeks at this meet.
