At NCAAs this year, there is no in-peson mixed zone. So media members have to send in questions via text on zoom and a local person reads them to the athletes. One of the ones I submitted was, "How many seconds do you think the super spikes are worth over 5000 meters?"
You can watch how he resonded to it below:

For the record, I didn't and do not credit everything to the spikes. I wasn't crediting the spikes with the title. I just am wondering how fast does he think he'd run in regular spikes.
Also for the record, can it please be known that I consider myself a fan. Journalists aren't supposed to cheer but since I was at the office nearly 3,000 miles away watching NCAAs tonight, I cheered very much for him and was really pulling for him as a fan as I felt like he deserved this title.
He did great and I can't wait to see how he does at USAs but that doesn't mean I don't think the spikes work.
