Hey guys, I am a jr in high school and run a 4:35 1600, 2:03 800 and 11:03 3200. All of my races are done for the year except one more 800 in a 4x8 relay. I was wondering if it is possible to go from 4:35 to sub 4:20 in one year. The reason why I want this goal specifically is that it is my school record and has been there for more than 50 years. I just need guidance because I want to go into cross-country with the same speed that I have now, so I could run a sub 4:40 and 2:05 in the time trial. I also want to break 16 in the 5k on a flat course. Basically, I want to build endurance without sacrificing my track speed. I am thinking if I can break 4:30 in indoor, I have a shot at going 4:20 outdoor. Anyways, I am willing to buy any shoe necessary and quit my job to reach this goal because it is that important to me.
