“It is what it is,” said Farah following his first 10,000m track defeat since the world championships of 2011.
So in answer to your question regarding what we should make of it, well, I guess we should make of it what we make of it. Hope that helps.
Mo also reminds everybody how courageous he is. No wonder this guy was knighted!
“The last 10 days hasn’t been great but, no matter what I’ve achieved in my career, it was important that I come to the trials. It would have been easy not to show but I did show and I dug in deep.
About 10 to 15 seconds slower than I was expecting
He could still beat that wejo guy who sometimes posts here

I doubt it. He's been in remote Ethiopia for the last 9 months. He's probably got more rocket fuel inside him, or at least rocket fueled training, than at any point in his career. The guy is 38. He's still as fast as he was at 25 (as you say, when he likely was natural). I remember when Sebastian Coe was left off the Olympic team for simply being too old at 31. The only reason we see guys still competing at the top towards their mid-thirties is because of EPO, but even EPO can't defeat father time in the end.
The leaders ran an optimal pace for him to finish in 2730.
First longer race of the season was always a shock to the system for me, with the second and third races seeing the greatest amount of improvement then generally a plateau or slight upticks in performance at best.
Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him drop 30-45 seconds off that time if he races again in 7-10 days. Then another 15-25 seconds from there to his peak. I’d certainly give it another go if I were him.
They call the first race of the season a rust-buster for a reason.
What's the rule of thumb for super shoes? 1.5 seconds for ever 600m? Would mean Mo would only run 28:15 without them.

Actually, he’s been in flagstaff. Though he’s been back since, I don’t think he’s very well liked or received in ethiopia after his spat with Geb.
He is not a spring chicken anymore and if he still has a nagging injury at an ankle, he definitely shouldn't attempt it.
Monday morning quarterbacking: He should have stuck to the marathon, he would have easily made the mark. That he was running "slower" than Eliud et al. doesn't mean he didn't had a chance to medal with dedication. After all, we are making a big fuzz at Rupp being there and Rupp has been much slower than mo in the marathon.
Mo is not a likable guy, I get that, (I personally think he is a douche) but all things considered he is one of the all time track greatest.
